Adjusts tabs, margins, and indents for the current paragraph by dragging the appropriate marker. All tabs and margins are stored as percentages of the width of the frame. When a frame is scaled, tab positions remain in relative positions. The Tab bar is divided into 10 divisions corresponding with 10% increments across the Quill frame. Tab stops determine the effect of tab characters in text.

Tabs are created by double clicking the Tab bar. If a tab is dragged to the exact position of an existing tab, the existing tab is replaced with the new one. If the tab is dragged off the Tab bar, it is deleted. Change tab type by clicking on the tab marker.

• Left (default) - Next word starts at the tab mark.

• Right - Next word ends at the tab mark.

• Center - Next word is center justified around the tab mark.

• Decimal - Used for columns or numbers. The first decimal point of a word/number is aligned below the tab mark.

Opens the Tabs and Margins Dialog .

Provides the interface where text is entered. If all the text in the frame cannot be displayed in the dialog, scroll bars appear on the right; they do not affect cursor position.

The cursor position determines where text will be entered or selected, or where dialog settings will be applied. The cursor can be moved with the mouse or keyboard.

Refreshes the display window, zooms in or out of the frame, and fits the frame to the display window.

Sets the justification style for the selected paragraph(s) to left, center, right, or justified.

Applies bold, italic, or underline formatting to text.

Bold and italic formats are defined by the font family settings of the base font. See Font Families.

Displays text lines using bullets or numbering. Also removed bullets or numbering.

Specifies the color of the text.

Specifies text font. Click on the pull-down to select a font.

Sets the distance between the lines of a paragraph, measured as a percentage of the largest text on the line, to 50%, 75%, or 100%. The percentage is displayed, and can be entered manually, in the text field to the right.

Specifies the angle at which text is drawn.

Specifies the distance between the letters of the text, measured as a percentage of text size.

Specifies text size as a percentage of master text size. Text size is adjusted by clicking the arrow buttons or manually entering percentages. Locking can be enabled or disabled by clicking on the lock icon.

Cancels any entries or edits made to the Quill frame.

Applies any entries or edits made to the Quill frame and closes the Quill dialog .
